Building Control Structural Engineer - London

A local Authority based in London are currently seeking a Building Control Structural Engineer.

The succesful candidate will need to have strong exerperience within Building Control and a good knowlege and expereience of UK Building Regulations.

About the role:

• This role requires you to be able to provide a range of professional and technical skills.
• To discharge the Council's delegated powers and duties as required under the Building Regulations, Building Act and associated legislation.
• Assist in the provision of service for the diverse range of activities. Prepare reports and record inspections incorporating decisions made on site under delegated authority with regard to compliance with current and associated legislation.
• Support the management team by exercising professional and managerial responsibilities, undertake Building Control duties in accordance with the policies and procedures to comply with Building Regulations and the quality assurance performance indicators to deliver a very high quality service
• To examine plans and details submitted under the Building Regulations, check for compliance with the requirements of those Regulations and allied legislation.
• Carry out regular site inspections in respect of works in progress to ensure that the works accord with the approved plans and are in conformity with the requirements of the Building Regulations.
