As the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be managing a team of 3 Quantity Surveyors working on the 13 year, multi-million pound Highways England contract in the South West of England covering the maintenance and response works to the motorway’s and major trunk roads in the South West.

The Managing Quantity Surveyor will be required to:

  • Develop commercial management processes and control measures designed to minimise risk and maximise operational performance of the contracts.
  • Prepare and provide advice on early warnings and associated compensation event’s on the contract.
  • Supporting the Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Assistants ensuring they are completing works in agreed timeframes, whilst also encouraging their development and monitoring progression.

The successful Managing Quantity Surveyor will have:

  • A relevant qualification such as Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management or over 10 years’ experience in this type of role.
  • Ideally a professional qualification (MRICS, MCIOB or MCIArb).
  • Extensive NEC contract knowledge.
  • Effective leadership skills.
  • A good eye for detail.

Please note; Although the main base for this role is in Bristol, you will be required to spend 50% of your time between the Devon and Cornwall sites, therefore the successful candidate must hold a driving license.
