About the role
As the Council’s specialist advisor on Building Control structural engineering, we’ll look to you to:
- Provide highly specialised technical advice and policy in relation to building design, materials, construction techniques and related matters in the context of the building regulations approval process.
- Check and approve complex structural designs for prestigious developments
About you
To succeed you’ll need:
- Comprehensive knowledge of complex building construction and structural analysis including dangerous structures.
- Knowledge and understanding of the relevant statutory and legal framework, national policy and current thinking within Building Control.
- Comprehensive understanding of building construction, materials and techniques.
- A detailed understanding of the Council’s core values of achieving results, engaging with others and valuing diversity.
- Willing to travel to various sites and locations and work at different times including weekend and evening meetings and to respond to out of hours dangerous structure call-outs.
