You will join a professionally qualified management team to support you, that has a commitment to deliver a quality, modern and competitive business through the Local Authority Building Control service.
You would hold a senior management position, whilst overseeing a wide range of prestigious projects. Responsible for the joint management of Building Control in Tower Hamlets, you will manage the delivery of the Council’s responsibilities for the determination of building regulation applications and oversee a team of Surveyors.
We are determined to improve our systems and processes, re-think the way we deliver the service and in managing a team we would expect you to enable us to become as business like as we can as we compete for work. You will be a creative, ideas person who has a desire to manage and lead within a building control environment.
The role is as a team leader so we expect you to work with the management team to manage the service and improve the offer but you will of course still need to do things like: inspect building work in progress, act as the Council's expert on all specialist Building Control matters and ensure public safety by dealing with alleged dangerous structures and public amenity by responding to applications for demolition work.
