This is an exciting opportunity to work for the Isle of Wight Council who is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic Building Surveyor to join its Surveying team.

The Isle of Wight Council’s Building Surveying team is dedicated to ensuring that the council maintains and improves its operational corporate property estate and is looking to expand its capacity to further support the Islands schools though joint working with our Education department.


The post holder will have the opportunity to give general Building Surveying advice and assistance across the whole of the Councils property portfolio, but its envisaged will focus their efforts to the Councils education department and its 50 schools.  You will have the opportunity to work on and manage a selection of interesting repair and refurbishment projects, and will be relied upon to offer sound professional surveying advice to all our clients.

The post holder will support the current Building Surveying team (Corporate Property Maintenance) and its Principal Officer, to whom you will report. You will be a capable and experienced surveyor with strong technical surveying skills and preferably, but not essentially, with public sector experience.  A fully qualified chartered surveyor (MRICS) or candidate working toward their chartered membership is desirable.
