Quantity Surveyor

Kelvin Properties is a small and successful Property Developer based within west central Scotland, due to steady and sustained growth, we are looking for a full time Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager for current and up and coming residential development projects with contract values between £3M - £5M.

As a member of our team you will work closely with the director of the business and his appointed site agents / construction managers, to deliver a quality product and to help to expand the company overall.

The position will be both office and site based and the main duties to be undertaken are as follows

• Preparing pre contract budget and tender documents for up and coming developments and /or liaising with professional advisors should their services be utilised for this function
• Overseeing all procuring, purchasing and material ordering (where necessary) for development and negotiating with suppliers and appointed trade / work package subcontractors culminating in agreement of final account(s)
• Preparing and maintaining monthly internal cost reports and budgets
• Preparing and recording payments to suppliers and subcontractors in line with agreed contract terms including negotiation and settlement of final account(s)
• Project Management of development(s) including regular site visits, corresponding with the design team and appointed contractors, chairing and minuting progress meetings, issuing CVI’s  and liaising closely with the appointed construction manager throughout the duration of the works.
• Having input into the planning and design stage of future developments

The ideal candidate would ideally have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a residential construction project management role. A construction related degree, Quantity Surveyor and MRICS qualifications. Membership of the Association of Project Management although not essential would be beneficial.
