Senior Quantity Surveyor
A Senior Quantity Surveyor is sought for a well respected partnership in the City.
The position has been created to support an ever-growing workload within higher education, heritage and private residential.
Our client is an established partnership who provide cost and project management services to charities, developers, end users, private clients and trusts. The business is owned and run by three Partners, who each have their own area of service and together employ a team of highly skilled professionals.
This opportunity is to work closely with one of the partners, who as you would imagine has significant and long-standing relationships. He has instructed us to find a capable, autonomous quantity surveyor who enjoys technical delivery of pre and post contract duties within education (private schools), heritage and private residencies, all are typical listed or have a focus on conservation. Typical projects are refurbishments, extensions and alterations where there is a high level of detail, specialist trades and consultation with the stakeholders. Projects are typically between £5 million and £80 million, where you will work closely with a widely respected professional team who are passionate and exacting in all that they undertake.
The workload demands an experienced quantity surveyor who is established in their career and enjoys delivering technically challenging projects that require close cost planning, financial management and control. It is essential that you want to be in a client facing role, are able to work with stake holders who are passionate about their projects and sometimes have very tight budgets so require strong representation.
You will have a degree or equivalent in cost management or quantity surveying, ideally you will be a chartered surveyor. It is essential you have good and recent understanding of JCT contracts and traditional procurement where you have worked closely with design teams and specialist sub-contractors.
