A South London Borough, driven to promote diversity and equality, passionate about the value of their public services and what they can bring to their local communities. They have recently undertaken large capital works and now looking to further their quality service by taking on an experienced Building Surveyor to help carry out these projects. This Local Authority, going through the biggest development and regeneration programme since the 1960s, is dedicated to providing a positive future for both residents and businesses alike, being the largest commercial district outside of Central London.


Your new role
You will be responsible for effectively communicating technical advice and information to a range of audiences from external partners/ organisations to School Governing bodies and members of the public. You will also be delivering and managing exciting projects, completed to a high quality, on time and within budget, and act as the lead surveyor to meet Council and Statutory building requirements, recognised code of practice and performance reporting. More specifically, you will be carrying out contract administration and apply construction related health and safety, including the CDM Regulations 2015 and Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.


What you'll need to succeed
Essential- MRICS or MCIOB

You will have a minimum of ten years' experience as a Building Surveyor, with a working knowledge of energy efficiency and solutions of public buildings as well as project management and contract administration experience. You will ideally have experience of managing both projects and people and have very strong interpersonal skills and comfortable in a client-facing role.
