Legal Disrepair Surveyor

On behalf of our client, a professional surveying & engineering business, Hays Property & Surveying are currently seeking multiple Freelance Legal Disrepair Surveyors, to step in due to their continuous growth and success.

My client has been established for 15 years, specialising in providing expert reports on insurance related matters, on behalf of solicitors and many UK major Insurance and Loss Adjusting companies.

Your new role as the Legal Disrepair Surveyor

As a Freelance Legal Disrepair Surveyor, you will be required to carry out Section 11 Housing Disrepair surveys as and when required. You will also be asked to produce Cavity Wall Defect Reports, insurance defect diagnosis reports, schedules of reinstatement and for the right candidate, insurance project management. The reports will be compiled by the surveyor, although they have other surveyors who use a clerical service to type these up then send back to approve and attach images.

To be successful as the Legal Disrepair Surveyor

As the successful candidate, you will be MRICS with a strong residential background preferably in disrepair and residential/housing, extensive experience in section 11 reports or alternatively in insurance related work. You'll be a self- starter and independent surveyor, as well as a confident user of a range of IT applications. You will have excellent writing skills and experience preparing accurate and detailed reports. Finally you will need to be able to access all parts of London, either by public transport or by car, as instructions will be North, South, East and West. Therefore maximum flexibility will be appreciated.

What you'll get in return In return

You will be given the ultimate flexibility in choosing when to work and how long for. You can work 1 - 5 days per week, taking on as many surveys as you want to in a day. Once you complete your work for the week, you will submit your completed reports to a solicitor and you will be paid the following week. You will not have to wait for legal proceedings to conclude, as your part in the process will be complete. The rate per survey will be £300.
