Your new company is an independent firm of chartered surveyors with strong ambition and an exceptional track record of high quality expertise and customer service.

Established 10 years ago this business has grown solidly over the decade gaining a reputation through consistent referred business and glowing feedback.

The company caters to private homeowners predominantly, providing expert advice on structural defects, party wall matters and construction projects. Due to a high demand in work and the plan to expand the business further, the team are looking to appoint a chartered building surveyor to assist the business, grow the practice, and develop their own career, with plans to promote the right candidate swiftly.

Your new role

You will work from the company's newly acquired, modern office based in Guildford, just a minute's drive from the A3. You will work independently, with administrative support from the operations team, and will provide services to private clients across Surrey.

You will be responsible for carrying out Full Building Surveys on residential properties, dictating on site and providing expert consultancy on defects identified.

You will also carry out specific defect analysis, identifying causes and providing solutions to the issue, providing cost estimates for rectification.

Ideally you will also be able to carry out the following jobs independently:

Acting as a party wall surveyor, giving expert consultancy relating to planned building works and mediating neighbourly disputes.

Project Managing building projects such as refurbishments, extensions and repairs to residential properties.


What you'll need to succeed

In order to succeed you will be a highly motivated Building Surveyor with a strong work ethic and the desire to succeed in your job.

You will be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing. You will be a client facing professional, able to interact with clients and represent the brand to the standards they expect.

You will take your job and your career seriously, able to demonstrate your dedication to a job well done.

You will need a BSc of equivalent in a Property related degree, and will need to be a minimum of associate member of the RICS, or a member of the CIOB.

You will need a full UK driver's license or equivalent as you'll be required to travel to site for surveys.

What you'll get in return

In return for your commitment to this job you will receive an annual salary bench-marked at £50K, with an additional £5K car allowance in addition annually.

You'll receive 25 holiday days a year + 8 bank holidays.

Your business mileage will be covered at 25p per mile, and you will be auto-enrolled on a company pension. You'll also receive private medical cover and a discretionary bonus based on performance and fee billing.

You will also receive support from a fully qualified member of the RICS with over 20 years of industry experience and excellent local knowledge. In addition to this you will be promoted on your merit, with the company ethos focusing on ensuring hard work and dedication is rewarded appropriately.

With the right attitude and level of work you could be a partner within the next 3 years, managing your own surveying team.
