Chartered Associate Quantity Surveyor

Overview of Role

We are currently recruiting a Chartered Associate Quantity Surveyor to join our client focused team in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). You will be responsible for leading projects and be accountable for the effective delivery of commercial and procurement services. This is an exciting opportunity for a high calibre individual to join and strengthen our Quantity Surveying team as well as play a strategic role in delivering the Saudi Arabia Kingdom 2030 Vision.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to take responsibility for providing Pre-Contract Quantity Surveying support for our professional services and project-based teams on a number of exciting mega projects, with a strategic focus on entertainment, retail, sports and museum. A strong track record in pre-contract is key to this requirement.

In terms of the candidate this should be someone who enjoys hands on project delivery, building and maintaining client relationships, helping to develop others within a team, they will be a key part of our growing Northern presence and they will be expected to get involved in targeted business development etc to help grow and deliver our offer in the area.

Key responsibilities:

• The individual may be located within a client office and may lead a team that is responsible for estimating, cost planning, commercial and procurement services;
• Preparation of budget estimates and cost plans and presenting these to client team as required;
• Participation in design meetings to define scope and assist in value engineering;
• BQ production, leading teams (in country and international);
• Advising the Client on commercial and contractual issues and associated strategies;
• Full Procurement management including:

• Providing advice on procurement strategies
• Preparing and issuing tender documents
• Management of tender process
• Preparation of tender recommendation reports
• Preparation of contract documents.

Person specification:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results.

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline
• A chartered member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors – MRICS
• Ability to successfully manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner
• A minimum of 15 years’ experience post degree qualification
• Pre-Contract experience; preferably in relation to entertainment, retail, sports and/or museum projects
• Experience of providing procurement advice, tender documentation and post contract services
• Able to build long-term relationships
• A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines
• A team player, outgoing, flexible, enthusiastic and ambitious.
