Senior Consultant - Engineering Compliance

ROLE OUTLINE

As an integral part of the Engineering Compliance team, you will be responsible for liaising closely with clients and facilities contractors in a role with wide ranging responsibilities and scope for development. Having a strong building services engineering background (not necessarily through design) and you will have a good working knowledge of engineering plant, equipment and an understanding of applicable building services standards.

The position includes undertaking surveys on new and old buildings, site inspections, auditing of contractor performance management, feasibility surveys, report writing, and site meetings.

KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Ensure projects are delivered to the relevant standards, cost and time
  • Oversee the delivery of non-strategic projects under guidance where required
  • Support the delivery of major projects or a range of smaller ones requiring specialist input
  • Provide day-to-day client interface, conducting site visits for technical assessment or problem solving
  • Report on project progress, risks and issues and ensures that these are highlighted and followed through
  • Develop solutions based on relevant best practice
  • Contributes to the delivery of innovative solutions for clients
  • Ensure that costs are managed and controlled to ensure the achievement of project profitability
  • Pro-actively identifies business development opportunities with existing and new clients and escalate for action
  • Supports the professional development and coaching of the team
  • Ensures that all project activities are managed in line with group policy and procedures
    • Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and efficient ways of working within projects and more widely across the business ensuring that this is shared with colleagues

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience within a similar role, preferably within an outsourced building services or facilities/asset management role
  • Educational qualification or equivalent within an engineering profession preferable but not essential
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and proficient in company systems, policies and procedures
  • Experience of carrying out Energy surveys and small scale design works preferable but not essential
  • Experienced in management of self and others
  • Technically competent in chosen profession
  • High level of knowledge of relevant software solutions
  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • High level influencing and negotiation skills
  • A level of commercial awareness
