We are currently seeking an experienced Building Control Surveyor to join our team in Bristol City Council. The role requires proficiency in the Building Regulations, allied legislation and good knowledge of the main methods of construction and materials. You’ll possess an appropriate construction qualification, such as a degree/HNC in Construction or Building, which leads into professional membership of an appropriate body such as the RICS or CABE.

You’ll assist in enforcing the Building Regulations and allied legislation, by carrying out site inspections and plan appraisals for proposals through the Building Control process from the pre-application stage, through to completion on site. You will also assist with the other activities such as enforcement and dangerous structures.

In this role you’ll be given the opportunity to work on a variety of projects enabling you to build on your existing experience, with an expectation to put our customers at the centre of the work we do.

This is a career grade post and appointment salary will depend on qualifications and experience.
