Farm Policy Advisor

A new opportunity has arisen to work within a well-established agricultural firm in Reading. Looking for candidates with previous experience in advisory or farm policy roles. Recent graduates and postgraduates are also encouraged to apply as well as individuals who are looking for a career in the land agency profession.

The company involves itself with technical knowledge of its members, to increase the flow of new opportunities onto the market and to help the farming industry best apply existing agricultural tenancy and land occupation legislation.

The Job:
Advising on basic payment schemes, agri environment schemes and planning.
Travel within England and Wales.
Development and enhancement of the Association's policy and advocacy work.
Representing the company in meetings and discussions with outside bodies including Government Departments and Agencies.
Providing advice, information and support on agricultural and rural policy issues.
Producing and updating advisory publications.
Keeping staff and officers informed of major issues and problems being reported.

The Candidate:
Enthusiastic, professional and personable
Highly organised, motivated and able to multitask.
Ideally previous experience in the agricultural industry.
Ability to work within a small team and independently.
Educated to degree level but no professional qualifications are required.
Property related qualifications or property management experience
Excellent attention to detail
