Building Surveyor/CAD Manager

Location: Brighton - Hollingbury

Salary: £35,211 to £42,036 per annum

If so, come and work as part of a friendly and supportive team where you will contribute to delivery of the University’s planned maintenance programme and manage various projects across our diverse estate (our buildings ranging from state-of-the-art new build facilities to a 15th Century tithe barn) while developing your knowledge of Auto CAD and Building Information Modelling (BIM).

The role will include:

•Project management of works of improvement, alteration and refurbishment

•Managing the implementation of programmes of major maintenance projects

•Contributing to the planning and formulation of long term maintenance plans

•The management of external consultants

•Control of quality, progress and finance in relation to building works

•Developing and maintaining working relationships with colleagues with the Estates team and across other departments

•Management of the department’s drawing records in AutoCAD/BIM format

To succeed in the role, you will be qualified to degree level in an appropriate surveying or construction related discipline, or have relevant equivalent knowledge and analytical skills gained through work experience at a similar level. You will also have experience of surveying occupied buildings of varying age and construction and recording findings, of estimating costs of maintenance work and recommending priorities and of the work practices, processes and procedures required for the delivery of maintenance and improvement projects from inception to completion
