Assistant Building Surveyor
Carriera has been retained, on an exclusive basis, to secure an Assistant Building Surveyor by one of London’s most prestigious Land owners.
The offices you will work from are just off Oxford Street and are well located to allow you to visit the whole estate by foot.
Our client is a very active landowner, developing their assets to the highest standards and enabling them to meet customer satisfaction, as well as the best possible yields, whilst investing in the community and supporting local charities/ trusts. Assets include, offices, residential, retail, parks and squares, ranging from single units to multi-tenanted and are more often than not listed.
The business was established in trust of looking after and developing the family portfolio, of which there are now many beneficiaries. It now employs near 100 staff, has a building and projects team of 8, with it’s leader sitting on the board. The level of tenure and time served by the team, as well as greater business, in this day and age is seriously impressive and is testament to how they are looked after and rewarded by the owners of the business.
The person we are looking for will have a degree in building surveying, ideally experience in industry of carrying out project or professional duties. Duties are mainly project led, dealing with cyclical and planned maintenance, refurbishments, alterations and replacement of building services. You will be responsible for helping to scope the works, developing the brief, setting budgets, controlling cost, appointing and managing consultants through to handover. You will be used to using Microsoft Office, in particular word and excel, and have an understanding of project.
The business will support your personal development, ensuring you have the right support and exposure for your APC. For any areas that they feel are light or need outside help you will be given the opportunity to work with external consultants. You will need to apply yourself and also help drive the apc process to complete it in a timely manner.
