Amida have been instructed to introduce a competent Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to a leading property consultancy that has a role available within a specific Technology Client. You will work in the client's offices and work largely within the commercial office sector for this specific client.
The firm is a market leading Tech Company whose main focus is e-commerce.
The candidate should have over 5 years' industry experience as a Quantity Surveyor and experience should have involved managing your own projects in either a consultancy or contractor environment. Commercial office experience a must.
Role Purpose:

The Cost Manager will be leading the project pricing and cost management function.

What the role involves:

* Manage and maintain a construction schedule of rates with multiple trade contractors
* Develop detailed project cost proposals which provide fair market value to the client
* Manage the following project processes:
o Cost estimates during scope definition and design
o Identify lower-cost scope alternatives and value engineering proposals
o Manage contractor bidding process
o Market cost benchmarking and analysis
o Contractor cost negotiation
o Project budget development
o Contractor selection
o Client presentation and review of project budget proposals
o Contractor subcontract negotiations
* Ensure project Costs of Works are at or below market rates
* Client presentations to demonstrate value for money & savings achieved from the program
* Manage commercial relationships with contractors
* Extensive client liaison.
* Identify new trade contractors and design vendors.
* Liaison with other client account teams to gather best practice and cost benchmark data.
* Provide help, support, tools and procedures to Project Managers regarding project cost proposals and benchmarking.
* Member of the account's regional contract governance team.
* All additional duties commensurate to the level of the role.

Desired attributes:

* Essential - minimum of 5 - 10 years' experience of quantity surveying and small projects / construction cost management,
* Essential - excellent knowledge of small projects construction supply chain.
* Preferred - formal Quantity Surveyor / cost management qualification.
* Essential - minimum 5 - 10 years' experience of developing project cost proposals for multiple construction projects simultaneously for large corporate clients; ideally fast track office fit-out, commercial refurbishment and M&E upgrade projects.
* Essential - Bachelor's degree in a numerate and / or engineering discipline.
* Outstanding negotiation skills.
* Excellent problem solving.
* Ability to manage multiple work assignments simultaneously, manage multiple or conflicting priorities, and handle a high-pressure working environment.
* Outstanding client relationship management skills with great client focus.
* Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
* Excellent numerical, commercial and financial acumen.
* Advanced Excel skills with good Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project skills.
* Candidate must demonstrate personal impact and gravitas, with high velocity & speed of response and a proactive, 'can-do' attitude.
* Positive, solution-oriented communications and a willingness to take responsibility.
