Project Director (Nuclear Defence), Helensburgh, Scotland

Are you a highly successful project manager / director looking to join a diverse, award winning practice? We specialise in the development and delivery of major nuclear defence projects. This is an exciting position which is centred around leading one of our major infrastructure projects for a key nuclear defence client.

This role can be based from any one of our Glasgow/Edinburgh/Cockermouth or Manchester offices, weekly client site visits between Helensburgh and Glasgow are to expected 2-3 nights/week.

Please note: Mandatory requirement to be able to attain MoD SC clearance.

Your Role

  • Fulfil the role of Project Director on major Defence Nuclear Projects (design to construction)
  • Forge strong working relationships with clients and become part of their integrated project teams
  • Liaise with the wider, multi-disciplinary team to ensure that projects are delivered successfully
  • Be a positive addition to the growing team and assist in the development of the residential infrastructure capability within the region.

About You

  • Mandatory requirement to be able to attain MoD SC clearance and therefore the role is only open to UK Nationals
  • Ideally an industry recognised professional qualification in project management and/or development
  • Experience working on civil nuclear and preferably defence nuclear projects ranging from £50M to £250M CAPEX with significant experience leading projects from concept, design and constuction
  • Experience of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and preferably accredited
  • Efficient and collaborative approach
  • Experience managing project teams
  • Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to convey ideas both verbally and in report form to clients, external stakeholders and the design team
  • Able to adapt strategies in line with changing priorities
  • Able to use modern management techniques to deliver projects successfully
