Building Surveyor

A leading insurance and warranty provider are seeking to grow their current team by appointing a multi-disciplined Building Surveyor to cover the South of England. In return you will receive a competitive salary of up to £50,000, along with mileage allowance, bonus scheme and additional benefits.

As a Building Surveyor your responsibilities would include:

• Well rounded surveyor experience including site inspections, defect diagnosis, report writing and remedial schedule writing
• Preparing schedules of works and scope of works using existing agreed rates
• Contract Administration on larger remedial schemes and supervision of contractors on site
• Investigating and reporting on construction defects, providing technical expertise to internal and external customers
• To attend site and investigate the causation of defects in properties that are newly constructed
• Providing technical support and technical investigation / analysis to internal departments relating to issues raised by Homeowners
• Inspecting newly built properties and undertaking reports and desk top reviews to determine the defect and compliance technical standards
• Providing succinct accurate advice and reports to the Claims department on the technical cause of claims by reviewing third party reports or attending site

Requirements:

• Qualified Building Surveyor/ Engineer (MRICS, MBEng, MIStructE, CIOB, CABE or similar)
• Post qualification experience
• Good technical knowledge of Regulations and other relevant construction standards
• Excellent communication and report writing skills
• Ability to undertake site inspections to assess both quality and the cause/effect of building defects
• Commercial awareness and ability to work as part of a team
• Full UK Driving Licence
