Head of Asset Management

£52,991 plus £2,500 London Weighting Allowance per annum

London based with regular travel to Leeds and West Malling, Kent

One of the UK’s most inspiring and best known faith-based organisations, The Salvation Army, is looking for a Head of Asset Management to play a key strategic role within the Property & Facilities Service. You will lead the team responsible for providing the estates management service to support the Mission of The Salvation Army throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Leading a team of Estate Surveyors and reporting to the Assistant Territorial Property Director, you will have responsibility for a wide range of estates activity including acquisitions, disposals, lease management and day to day management across the various mixed portfolios of mainly freehold assets.

As part of the property leadership team you will have the opportunity to take part in the shaping of future corporate estates strategy as well as contributing to the day to day activity of a busy and committed department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To manage the delivery of an effective estates management service throughout the UK and Ireland
  • To provide strategic advice on estate management issues maximising income and capital receipts
  • To manage a team of estate surveyors to ensure an effective and compliant estates service is provided
  • To ensure compliance with all legislation and to manage risk via detailed due diligence processes.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Relevant corporate property experience, preferably within the Charity sector
  • MRICS / FRICS qualification with a relevant degree being desirable but not essential
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively at all levels
  • An open and flexible approach with keen negotiating and problem solving skills.
