Building Surveyor - Aids & Adaptation

Your new company

Hays Property & Surveying has been appointed by our client, a Housing Association in London, to find an Aids & Adaptation Building Surveyor on a temporary basis. This is a temporary position for 6-8 weeks.

Your new role

You will be required to visit and survey client homes to make an assessment of the level of disrepair, feasibility of aids and adaptations or improvements. You will liaise with funding agencies including Environmental Health and Occupational Therapists etc to ensure that specifications comply with their requirements. Consult with Local Authority building control, listed building/conservation departments. To prepare specifications, plans or working drawings, price jobs, tendering, and schedule of rates in accordance with the clients HIA procedures, negotiate with contractors and obtain any statutory or other approvals required.

What you'll need to succeed

Ideally you will have experience of specifying, doing scale drawings and managing adaptations and renovations works and working with a vulnerable client group. You will be able to manage a caseload and work on your own initiative processing grant applications. You will have knowledge and experience of working with local authorities, grants application and working with a vulnerable client group. You will have experience carrying out work to a high standard and working closely with contractors and Grant Teams.
