Lecturer in Construction Law

Salary: £34,189 - £48,677 pro rata per annum – Grade 7/8

The Department of the Built Environment of the School of Art, Design and Architecture at the University of Plymouth is inviting applications for the post of Lecturer in Construction Law.

The Department of the Built Environment is a vibrant and growing part of the school. In addition to the current undergraduate degrees in Building Surveying, Construction Project Management and Architectural Engineering we are launching a course in Quantity Surveying in September 2019. Our courses are accredited by the RICS, CIOB, CABE and CIBSE.

You will be expected to take a lead role in the teaching of the construction law aspects of our longstanding undergraduates courses. We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the following areas: Contract law; Land law; Environmental law; Restrictive covenants; Easements; Landlord and tenant; Leases; Tort and negligence; and Trespass and nuisance. We are looking to appoint a candidate with a dedication to the delivery of high quality teaching. You will be expected to have involvement in professional activities as well as contributing to recruitment marketing and business activities within the department.

You must have a good undergraduate / postgraduate qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant subject. Experience of delivering high quality teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level and a track record of working within or in close association with industry will be highly valued for the position.

This is a permanent position working 7.4 hours per week (0.2FTE). Some flexibility will be required to accomodate the schedules of the modules.
