Chartered Building Surveyor
A chartered building surveyor is sought to join a high performing building consultancy based in St Albans.
This is a senior role, which will be orientated around personal delivery, management, and client engagement, the appointment will be at either Senior Building Surveyor, Principal Building Surveyor or Associate Building Surveyor, dependent upon your experience.
The practice offers building consultancy and project management services to their blue-chip client base, whose schemes and assets, typically commercial led, are within or surrounding the UK's major Cities.
It is anticipated that you will have a diverse professional skill set, are able to offer project and professional expertise to intelligent clients with varying assets. Projects that are delivered are typically on behalf of the landlord, will involve Cat A or B fit-out or refurbishments/ fit-outs and are between £2 million and £10 million in value. Some of the projects currently in planning or about to hit site are considerably larger than this but you are not expected to have exposure in this scale of project. Professional duties will include surveys, dilapidations and pre-acquisition advice.
You will deputise for the Director as client lead on some projects and as your relationships develop so will your responsibility with the clients. It is anticipated that you will support the Director in a managerial function, delegating work, mentoring junior team members and helping with their APC preparation. You will help with client development via expert delivery of service, identification of new opportunities/ clients and pitching for business.
Desired skills and expertise:
You will be a member of the RICS, i.e MRICS or FRICS, have gained a solid grounding in commercial building surveying through the delivery of project and professional services. You will be articulate, concise, have a strong grasp of the English language, have the desire to deliver commercial building surveying and be looking to add value to a business where there is no limit to your progression and what you can build. You will be familiar with Microsoft office products, in particular word, excel, PowerPoint and be used to Outlook.
