Campus & Estates Services at SRUC play a vital role in ensuring that SRUC’s built environment is fit for purpose and supports strategic aims.

Applications are invited to the position of Campus & Estates Operations Manager. Reporting to the Professional Services Director, the main purpose of this role is to ensure that SRUC retains and maintains a strong portfolio of estates and facilities with an appropriate working environment. The post-holder will be accountable for delivery of a customer-focussed operational service that meets SRUC’s strategic ambitions. Leading, managing and motivating a multi-disciplinary team of facilities services professionals, you will be accountable for ensuring a high level of service delivery across SRUC campuses and estates.

Qualifications required
You should ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent and possess a Professional qualification in a related discipline with active membership of a relevant professional body- BIFM, RICS, CIBSE or similar.

Experience and understanding

  • Proven successful experience of a management role in a related discipline
  • Technical building knowledge
  • Sound understanding of Health & Safety practices & legislation
  • Developing/maintaining QA management systems
  • Experience in project management for capital works and maintenance contracts, including the appointment and management of consultants
  • Strategic & tactical management experience in soft and hard FM services, including planned & reactive services
  • Experience in undertaking property assessments for condition, functionality, quality, statutory compliance, space utilisation and environmental and developing forward maintenance/investment plans
  • Experience of best practice in building services
  • Financial management experience including budget preparation and monitoring delivery
  • Experience of managing supplier relationships
  • Experience of procurement & contract management
  • Management of a multi-disciplinary professional team
  • Experience of managing health, safety & environment systems
  • Proven ability to work in a pressured environment with competing priorities
  • Experience of balancing a varied workload with consistent urgent priorities
  • Experience of line management

This role will based in the Peter Wilson Building at King’s Buildings, Edinburgh however regular travel and flexible working hours will be required to support the requirements of the role.
