Job Details

One of the largest Approved Inspectors in the country are looking to recruit a Building Control Surveyor to join the team. The successful surveyor will be rewarded with a competitive salary of up to £60,000, plus an excellent benefits package and the opportunity to pursue further qualifications and development.

As a Building Control Surveyor your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a portfolio of projects and clients whilst efficiently prioritising own workload
  • Assessing and setting fees including complex projects
  • Managing high-level clients within a client relationship management process
  • Providing effective management support to office staff
  • Vetting applicable documents and drawings to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations, associated statutory legislation and guidance
  • Allocating and managing projects with external professional site inspection consultants
  • Carrying out site inspections, preparing site visit reports and witness tests
  • Consulting with the fire authorities and other statutory bodies as necessary

Requirements for the successful Building Control Surveyor:

  • Member status of RICS, CABE, CIOB or equivalent, or associate level with relevant experience
  • Conversant with relevant legislation, technical guidance and the Construction Industry Council Code of Conduct
  • Previous in-house or external building control experience
  • Current valid driving licence
