Job Details
A new Development Project Manager job in Cambridgeshire and an opportunity to join an growing business and development team.
Our client is an established housing provider, providing both affordable housing and supported housing across the East of England. The organisation currently employs over 250 people, provides accommodation for over 45,000 residents and plans to deliver over 1000 new homes over the next 5 years.
As Development Project Manager you will report to the Development Manager and will supervise the procurement and construction of development schemes ensuring all development schemes adhere to pre-agreed design / quality standards, specification, budget costs and agreed programme (s).
Role & Responsibilities
- Working as part of the Development Team and liaise with contractors, employer's agents and consultants to ensure that a high standard of workmanship is delivered on all development projects
- Take responsibility for delivery of schemes including attending site meetings pre, post and during construction
- Assist the Development Manager with all project and programme management updates and monitoring reports
- Tender, appoint and appraise consultants and contractors
- Work with appointed employer's agent to provide clear client side instructions or change requests to inform design
- Regularly carry out site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure all workmanship is undertaken to the required standard and in accordance with the contract documents and statutory requirements
- Assist the Development Manager with monthly project dashboard and project cash-flow updates
- With the support of a scheme appointed clerk of works, co-ordinate the handover and snagging process, undertaking post-inspection of remedied works, signing-off works as completed and accepting handover from the contractor
Required Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role working within residential development
- A comprehensive knowledge of traditional and modern construction methods
- Good general knowledge of construction and building maintenance
- Ability to read, interpret, and review drawings and project specifications and contracts
- Experience of monitoring and assessing construction work
Recognised qualifications in Project Management, Planning, Surveying, Architecture or Construction would be highly desirable.
