Position: Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Salary: £24,000 - £27,000 + Full benefits

Carriera have been retained by a very well-established independent cost management consultancy company based in Winchester, Hampshire. The company has been cooperating for over 30 years and have a specific aim and approach for their clients. The services that they are offering are project management, building valuations, cost management and quantity surveying.
When it comes to quantity surveying and cost management was that the company aims to manage all projects they have, making it best suited for all of their client’s requirements. For this role you will be working closely with the design team because you can guide them from the start to finish of the project. The company’s ethos is to make sure that quality is surely above quantity as they have all these years embedded serving clients well in their company.
As the assistant quantity surveyor, you will be working within a great team, a team that is experienced and also dedicated to each of their duties. They provide independent cost advice which includes procurement, tendering, risk and design. You will be working on a new software crafted by those who curate the latest technology for the cost management and quantity surveying profession.
Your main duties will be dealing with preliminary cost advice, feasibility studies, cost planning, offering key advice especially when you’re working within an experienced team. The advices that you will be giving is advice on the selection of contractors, documentation and also advice on contractual methods. You will also be preparing agreement of accounts, monitoring project costs, site measurements, obtaining and negotiating tenders.
You must already have some experience working within a similar quantity surveying role. You will have either a bachelor’s degree and masters in quantity surveying or any relevant engineering course. You may already be chartered or you’re on route to attaining full chartership which is the MRICS.
It will be advantageous if you have prior knowledge of JCT 2016 forms of contract, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must have the ability to work without being micromanaged in some form, the ability to work well in a team environment and also being able to communicate excellently with clients and contractors. Clearly, this will require for an individual who is efficient in both oral and written skills.
