Our client who develops renewable energy solutions and who is committed to developing new energy generation from proven technologies ranging from wind farms to energy from waste schemes, is on the search for a Senior Project Manager from preferably an environmental, renewable energy, property/land background, to deliver the businesses aspirations for valued creation and growth in the renewable energy and property development sectors.

The Senior Project Manager will:

Overall objective will be to lead, manage and motivate multi-disciplinary internal and external teams within an agreed framework to achieve business aspirations.

Renewables: To deliver value from a portfolio of complex established projects and to provide the skill base to support the expansion of the company into new market areas with a particular focus on the zero subsidy environment.

Property Scotland: To deliver value from the companies established portfolio of legacy projects and provide project management leadership in support of an aspiration to grow the property portfolio in Scotland.

The Senior Project Manager will:

Lead, manage and motivate project teams within agreed framework to deliver successful project outcomes aimed at achieving business targets and growth aspirations.

Lead in the development of optimal strategies for projects - being the strategy that represents the optimal balance between commercial risk and planning success likelihood.

Develop proposals for and implementation of sound risk management throughout the projects lifespan.

Successfully deliver projects from inception / identification through planning, due diligence, financial close and construction (client PM role during construction).

Management of projects within the Banks Group project management assurance system at all times.

Work closely with senior management team in the implementation of the portfolio strategy.

Notwithstanding the delegation of responsibilities within a project team, the Senior Project Manager is fundamentally responsible and accountable to the business for all areas of a project including but not limited to: Commercial vision. Budget and cashflow management. Financial appraisals, assessment and reporting. Risk identification, assessment and management. Budgeting and cashflow

Provision of management information. Project QA and standards. Project Assurance. Project sponsor management. Planning, Technical, Community and Political. Estates management and negotiation

Strategic vision and development of sub strategies (planning approval, technical, risk mitigation etc.). Health and Safety. Programme management. Conflict management. Resource management. Management and board reporting. Procurement management. Project administration

Essential:

Degree level or equivalent

At least 7 years of project management and leadership experience on commercial scale renewable energy or property development projects.

Base level understanding of project management principles PRINCE 2, APM or RICS qualifications.

Microsoft project proficient

Solid understanding of project finance, valuation methods, budgeting practices and general understanding of accounting principles.

Proven leadership and people management skills.

Knowledge of Health and safety legislation or qualification.

Previous experience of managing and leading multidisciplinary teams is required.

Solid understanding of renewable energy technologies.

Solid knowledge of the town and country planning process and the necessities for achieving deliverable planning consents.

Detailed understanding of risk identification, measurement, reporting and mitigation principles.

Track record of strategy development and implementation in the delivery of complex projects. Must be able to provide examples.

Track record of managing multiple projects at the same time.

Demonstrable understanding of the UK political system. Individual would preferably

Desirable: Degree in environmental, renewable energy, property or other science background. Professional qualification RICS, IEMA, APM or other relevant qualification. Track record of tendering, negotiating and implementing key contracts (Construction, TSA, PPA, financing, planning agreements).
