Building Surveyor - Belfast

Due to continued success we are recruiting for a Building Surveyor to be based in our Belfast office.

The Primary role is to involve:

Building Surveying

• Implementing the WYG business development plan for the region
• Undertaking condition survey, historic building surveys, measured surveys, fire risk assessments, DDA Audits and providing dilapidations advice,
• Preparation of AutoCAD minor works design, preparation of tender documentation  
• Acting as contractor administrator for minor works projects
• Reporting findings through verbal and written communications.

In additional to the primary building Surveying Duties the role may expand into general Asbestos Surveying duties and preference will be given to candidates with experience in this field. This additional role is to involve:

Asbestos Consultancy

• Implementing the WYG business development plan for the region
• Undertaking Management, Refurbishment and Demolition asbestos surveys (as defined in HSG264)
• Carrying out re-inspections, update asbestos registers and asbestos management plans, ensuring that inspection works are carried out in accordance with documented procedures and comply with the quality system.
• Recording all site data and compile inspection reports.
• Reporting findings through verbal and written communications.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Building Surveying

• Completion of surveys / designs in full accordance with good practice / RICS guidance and WYG procedures
• Writing of technical reports / tender documentation
• Preparation of design / contract documentation
• Proactively interprets and takes appropriate actions / decisions
• Operates at a professional level
• Ensures departmental processes are adhered to

Asbestos Consultancy

• Completion of asbestos surveys in full accordance with HSG 264 and WYG procedures
• Writing of technical asbestos survey reports
• Proactively interprets and takes appropriate actions / decisions
• Operates at a professional level
• Ensures departmental processes are adhered to

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

 Essential 

• Degree qualified (preference give to a Degree in Building Surveying)
• Ability to work independently or as a team
• Ability to support junior team members
• IT literate (incl AutoCAD)

Desirable

• P402 qualified with at least 2 years asbestos surveying experience and capable of undertaking the duties of a lead asbestos surveyor
• Clean driving license
• Proven track record in improving revenues and financial performance
• Chartered Building Surveyor with post qualification experience
• Building Surveying experience
