Currie & Brown is currently looking for an associate cost consultant to be based in Manchester. The successful candidate will maintain a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, working to promote the company and services to potential new and existing clients, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.

Currie & Brown's Manchester office has established itself as a market leader in the delivery of cost consultant services across a range of sectors. We are striving to grow our business in the region and the candidate will have the opportunity to take an active role in the growth of the business and in the delivery of our service to key clients.

The ideal candidate will be a senior or associate cost manager with aspirations and ability to progress to associate director level.

Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:

  • Participating in bid winning, including drafting proposals and attending key industry events
  • Developing and expanding the existing client base, raising the profile of Currie & Brown in the regional market and promoting new business opportunities
  • Managing and mentoring the existing team of cost consultants as part of the management team
  • Contributing to developing and improving performance of the team
  • Acting as lead on selected projects and liaising with clients to ensure our service meets their requirements
  • Implementing and monitoring relevant administration systems as well as standards for customer care
  • Undertaking responsibility for profitability of projects, including managing and controlling financial performance via Agresso
  • Working collaboratively with the senior management team members to share best practice, service delivery, knowledge and resources
  • Undertaking responsibility for personal and industry compliance
  • Ensuring support to regular audits and peer reviews of projects that are undertaken

Requirements:

  • Technical qualification in a construction-related discipline
  • Member of a relevant professional organisation
  • A minimum of five years' technical delivery experience gained within a construction consultancy
  • Experience and evidence of performing in a similar role
  • Knowledge of local and national commercial marketplace
  • Good technical writing, client-facing and communication skills
  • Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive and willing to work in a mutually supportive environment
  • A team player with a 'can-do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful and flexible
