Blackpool Council

Contract: Temporary until 31/03/2021

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £43,662.00- £48,541.00 per annum

This advert is open to both internal and external applicants however, internal applicants will be considered for this role prior to external candidates.

Blackpool Council is creating Blackpool first ever museum, telling the extraordinary and rarely told stories of Britain’s first mass seaside report - the place that has played an unrivalled role in the development of British popular entertainment over the past 150 years.

We are now entering the delivery stage of this exciting major development project.
The Museum will be on Blackpool’s Promenade and will occupy space within the privately owned Sands Building which is currently being developed into Blackpool’s first 5* hotel. The Museum will open in 2021.

We are seeking an experienced project manager who will coordinate the Museum’s capital works to ensure that they are completed effectively and efficiently, to the required standard, within budget and on programme. This is a complex capital project as it includes fit-out (public spaces and backroom facilities), creation of themed exhibition galleries and coordination with the private developers.

Our ideal candidate will have experience of managing complex capital projects including professional and technical knowledge of exhibition delivery and fit out works, procurement, commissioning and contract management.

The post is time-limited to the end of the capital project in 2021.
