Acceptance Clerk of Works - Larkhill - Fixed Term Contract

We are recruiting for a Clerk of Works on a fixed term contract to be based on site in Larkhill.

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) has contracted WYG to provide the Project Management for the Salisbury Plain Service Families Accommodation (SPTA SFA) project. 

This project will deliver 917 new houses for service personnel moving to Salisbury plain across 3 housing sites at Larkhill, Bulford and Ludgershall in time for families moving over the summer of 2019. 

WYG are providing the DIO with Project management and the assurance that the contractor, Lovell, are delivering the requirement in accordance with the contract. 

The core team works alongside the DIO and the main contractor in offices in Ludgershall with site based staff on the 3 sites.  The project is due to complete in July 2020. 

The role is approx for 8 months from 28 Aug 19 to 30 Apr 20.

Your Role

Working from the site office in Larkhill you will be conducting snagging, de-snagging and acceptance inspections on behalf of the Defence Infrastructure organisation.  Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the site PM and other Clerk of Works to assure that the build standard has been achieved up to the point of the formal snagging inspection, backfilling the other Clerk of Works as required.
  • Carrying out the joint snagging inspection with the contractor and DIO to agree the works required to achieve the acceptance standard.
  • Recording the snagging inspection through the snagging inspection check sheet, passing a copy to the contractor for action and retaining the client copy.
  • Carrying out the joint de-snagging inspection with the contractor and DIO to agree that all the required works identified at snagging have been completed and that the property is ready for acceptance.
  • Carrying out the acceptance board to formally accept the property from the contractor, ensuring that all the necessary documentation and keys are handed over and that the property is in a fit state for acceptance.
  • Keeping the weekly scheduling and resource meeting informed on progress and constraints to the scheduling of inspections.
  • Completing and maintaining the necessary records and documentation of the handovers.

  • Previous experience of project acceptance inspection process, preferably with MOD and or DIO accommodation
  • MS Office
