Construction Manager (Client Side)

My client is one of the Uk`s leading privately owned storage service providers.
The business has 10 current sites in their group portfolio and plans to invest heavily this financial year to facilitate their robust expansion plans.

Our client is looking for a Project /Construction Manager to oversee a variety of inhouse construction projects ranging from; new build & mixed use, to redevelopment of existing buildings and refurbishments.

As the lead for these construction projects you will also be responsible for cost control therefore any Quantity Surveying or exposure to managing construction costs would be desirable. You will be coordinating third party suppliers, and managing the contractors progress to ensure it is delivered on time and to budget.

Responsibilities

• Developing project scopes, program and objectives,
• Ensure technical feasibility of proposed works
• Develop a detailed project plan to track progress and oversee all trades / contractors
• Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs 
• Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
• Establish and build relationships with all project parties
• Develop comprehensive project documentation

This opportunity is viewed as a critical hire to the business expansion plans and the Project / Construction Manager will report directly to the Managing Director. The business can provide the perfect platform for progression as they grow and develop a full in-house construction team of which will then be headed up the successful applicant.

The ideal candidate will have exposure to managing construction projects in a client-side or consultancy environment. Although strong applicants with experience for principle contractors will also be considered,

RICS is desirable but not essential.
