The SGSA is the safety regulator for football grounds in England and Wales and the UK Government’s independent adviser on sports grounds safety.
We are recruiting a Regional Inspector to join our team.
As an Inspector, you will be responsible for advising on safety issues at the 92 Premier League and English Football League clubs, along with Wembley and the Principality Stadium You will regulate local authorities in their oversight of safety at the grounds and provide insights to aid our licensing responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advice and guidance on a wide spectrum of spectator safety issues across football and other sports.
The Inspectors' role involves frequent interaction with Local Authorities, football clubs and other interested parties, with visits to sports grounds on both event and non-event days. They advise, assist and persuade clubs and Local Authorities on a wide range of ground and spectator safety issues. Inspectors may also be required to develop and deliver training on safety related issues.
We encourage applicants with a range of different experiences to apply but would particularly welcome those with a building surveying background.
Recruitment is currently for one role. However, we are expecting others to become available in the next 12 months.
