The University of Nottingham is seeking a Property and Space Management Director to join our Estates and Hospitality Directorate.

You will have responsibility for all land and building acquisition and disposals; space management including the reporting on use and performance of space; all landlord and tenant activity; development of a commercial portfolio of tenanted space; and leading a team of external surveyors and the University Houses Team. You will be key to the success of the University’s future estates plan, providing leadership through effective engagement and collaboration with operational teams, senior colleagues and professional partners, to develop and deliver strategic business plans, space and property management services and clear policy guidelines fit for the immediate and long-term needs of the University.

One of you key focuses will be ensuring the delivery of our Estates Master Plan, focusing on developing and delivering change through space allocation policy. You will also be required to lead on the Estate Property and Space Plan, which will involve working in partnership with senior leaders across the university, both domestically and internationally, to ensure strategic alignments. Along with space management, you will be developing and implementing a Property Investment Strategy, which will include advising on opportunities to acquire strategic land and buildings, along with the disposal of surplus land and buildings.

As the successful candidate, you must have highly developed knowledge of the principles, theory and practice of Estates management across a diverse multi-site property portfolio and have experience of managing and controlling substantial budgets.
