Job Details

Carriera has been retained to secure a Town Planner on the behalf of a well-regarded Partnership.

About the business;

The business works through commercial, industrial, leisure, residential, retail and mixed-use sectors offering a full range of property consultancy services.

They work in partnership with the other professional teams, such as the investment, development and building consultancy teams. Working with clients within land acquisition, private investment and development, public sector and architects. The workload is currently split between residential and commercial.

Our client is looking to strengthen their town planning service offering by appointing 2 professional staff to their team. These professional can be based in Crawley or Brighton.

You will be responsible for carrying out;

  • Town planning reviews, appraisals, applications and appeals
  • Undertake professional site inspections and writing up the relevant reports with references to policy.
  • Lodge any necessary planning applications and appeals diligently
  • Prepare any background reports in accordance with RTPI best practice and guidance notes.
  • Managing junior team members, conducting appraisals and assisting in recruitment.

You will support the senior team in developing new business, managing client relationships and supporting in the management of the department.

About you;

You will be RTPI qualified, be experienced within planning policy, application and development control. You will have a degree or masters in a planning related course. It is expected that you will have good experience with inn private practice, understand the commercials of delivering a successful service and have aspirations to achieve Partnership.

You will be up to date with planning law. Have experience with dealing with small change of use to 100 + unit schemes. Your background and professional career may be with the public or private sector. It is expected that you will support the Partner and Director in pitch meetings, networking and developing new relationships. You will be responsible for your own fee accounting, debt resolution and support any junior staff by managing theirs.

  • Circa £35,000 base salary
