We now have a vacancy for an experienced Chartered Building Professional to join our Private Clients team based in Kings Norton, Birmingham. This is primarily an adjusting position but the successful candidate must have a solid background in building surveying or engineering. Our team works for a large number of market leading and specialist insurers and focuses mainly on domestic HNW, MNW and technical claims. It is expected that you will quickly become a key member of that team, undertaking a broad range of insurance based surveying and loss adjusting instructions dealing with subsidence, major loss and general perils claims. You will also provide technical buildings assistance and advice to our general adjusters across our three offices. The position will be office based but you will be equipped to work remotely. Full admin support will be provided. The position involves frequent travel to customers and clients, UK wide.

You will have/ will be:

  • Chartered status MRICS, MCIOB, Structural or Civil Engineer
  • Preferably educated to degree level, or with equivalent commercial experience
  • A detailed knowledge and understanding of structural defects to low rise buildings, building technology and the construction industry
  • Experience in all aspects of subsidence claims handling including cause analysis, interpretation of site investigation results, project management
  • Good general insurance claims knowledge and previous experience in an adjusting role
  • Able to manage own caseload, meet targets and service standards
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills
  • IT proficient
  • Full UK driving licence
