Property & Facilities Service (PFS) - Estates Surveyor

£34,973 per annum plus car

We are seeking an experienced property professional to join The Salvation Army as an Estates Surveyor within our Property & Facilities service in Scotland. As Estates Surveyor you will provide an effective and professional estates surveying service to The Salvation Army and subsidiaries as required, ensuring compliance with statute and following set procedures throughout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the provision of the acquisition and disposal of residential, church, retail and other commercial property
  • Manage lease acquisitions disposals and renewals and negotiate rent reviews
  • Assist in the provision of short and long-term strategic property advice on transaction activities seeking the optimum benefit for the organisation in operational terms at the same time maximising income and capital receipts
  • Report regularly on acquisitions, disposals and other property activities to ensure that a comprehensive and efficient service is provided
  • Deal with neighbourly and day to day estate matters for a mainly freehold estate

 The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate that they are a good communicator, have client focus; and be self-motivated whilst providing, when required, assistance to other Property Service members. The applicant will be a qualified member of the RICS and have relevant experience in charity law in relation to the property sector. All applicants must be able to work within the Christian ethos of The Salvation Army.
