Your new company is a Chartered Surveying Practice with national reach and a history that spans 100 years. The business provides a a diverse range of property services to a broad and varied client base across the country.

Since a change in senior management two years ago the organisation has gone from strength to strength, securing lucrative agreements across several regions.

Due to excellent service provision and strong business development, company's regional office in Guildford has grown impressively to the point that they are seeking a Chartered Development Surveyor to join the experienced, growing team covering their Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire client base

Your new role
As a Chartered Development Surveyor you will be reporting into the two senior partners based in the Guildford office, and will receive a variety of instructions from them, focused predominantly on public sector and local authority clients with whom they have secured long term contracts.

Spanning a mixture of commercial, residential and industrial property your responsibilities will primarily cover, but will not be limited to the following:

Providing viability assessment and development appraisals
Providing advice on disposal options as well as managing options agreements
Securing Planning & assessing feasibility.
Providing advice on restrictive covenants

You will work independently and as part of a team on the duties above, and will be responsible for leading or supporting client meetings, building strong relationships with key clients and working intelligently to maximise business potential from them.

You will be fully supported by the two senior partners at the office who will work closely with you on a daily basis.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role and within this business you will need to be a MRICS or FRICS chartered Surveyor with a minimum of two years' experience working as a commercial development surveyor (preferably with local authority clients).

You will need to be a driven and commercial professional who can engage with clients and build strong relationships through effective communication and excellent service provision.

You will be organised and able to manage your own diary effectively in order to maximise your performance.

You will need to be a performance focused individual, as whilst the business doesn't necessarily expect the extraordinary, the minimum expectation for billing will be 1.85 x annual salary, which will secure a minimum bonus.

You will ideally live within an hour's commute of Guildford and will need to hold fully valid UK driver's licence, preferably with access to a vehicle however a car allowance will be provided.

What you'll get in return
In return for your commitment you will receive a competitive salary, currently benchmarked at £55K, however there could be movement on this based on your fee earning performance.

You will receive a car allowance of £4,200 per year plus a fee related bonus starting at 10% from 1.85 x annual salary, and increasing and fees of 2.25 x and above.

You will receive private healthcare including virtual GP service and a dental cover scheme as well as optical cover on completion of your probation at 6 months.

You will also receive permanent health insurance - 50% of salary and Life Cover at 2 x annual salary.

Annual leave will be provided at 23 days per annum plus bank holidays, which increases annually to a total of 28 in 5 years. You may also buy and sell 3 days annual leave per year.

The company pension on offer is an employer matched 4% contribution.

Annual RICS fees and CPD courses will be covered by the business.
