Assistant Quantity Surveyor - London

Our team provides cost management services to a variety of clients covering the whole of the UK and a range of overseas locations.

We are expanding due to business growth and an opportunity exists for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor in our London office.

Your Role

As part of our team of international experts you will be expected to provide our clients with a comprehensive range of Cost Consultancy services.  We consider these skills paramount to the successful execution of any construction venture. Working alongside our colleagues across the business, we draw upon the highest calibre of skills to provide our clients with a professional quality Cost Management service.

Our flexible approach delivers the optimum cost management strategy, one which satisfies the business and project objectives of our clients and delivers the best possible results for all stakeholders.

You will be integral in our Cost Management strategy which embodies a wide variety of specialist services including planning and forecasting, option appraisal, business case preparation, procurement advice, whole life costing, life cycle costing, cost planning, construction management, change control, project monitoring and contractual expertise and advice.  With the financial interest of our client a fundamental priority, we analyse and consider the financial implications at every project stage, attaching great importance to cost control, budgeting and financial appraisal.

We are cognisant of the importance of obtaining value for money and the comfort that cost certainty and control brings to our Clients. As such, you should be able to utilise a Risk Management system involving the identification of potential risks, the classification and analysis of risk and the implementation of risk response strategies. This ensures that we administer construction commissions with a greater degree of anticipation and forethought for our clients.

About You

You will have full membership of a recognised professional body or be committed to achieving full membership (e.g. MRICS) an industry recognised professional qualification in Project Management would also be beneficial.

You will bring to the team a sound knowledge and proven experience in guiding and developing Quantity Surveying best practice and innovation. You will deliver a high quality service focused on client satisfaction and financial information delivery.

You will provide an efficient, collaborative, well governed service using modern management techniques to deliver our projects successfully.  You will be experienced in working on major projects and have a demonstrable track record of a high standard of technical delivery and client focussed strategic advisory financial reporting services.

WYG provide most if not all technical services in the built and natural environments, and multi-disciplinary projects can involve many different disciplines across a wide range of projects and client organisation types.

To be part of this diverse team you will have well developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build strong working relationships at all levels.  You will be a strategic thinker with the ability to convey your ideas both verbally and in report form to clients, external stakeholders and the design team and you will have the ability to adapt project delivery strategies in line with changing priorities.
