Calling all Estates Managers and Surveyors - There has never been a more exciting time to work in property at a Local Authority.
Development Surveyors Welcome
Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council is undergoing a significant transformation across its property functions. Starting with the Estates Service, a recent decision was made to return the service back to an in-house function after several years of being contracted out. With a big agenda on the horizon, we felt that a home grown team is the way to go with genuine development opportunities available and an infrastructure that shall allow staff to join us at different levels and work their way through the ranks in property.
This is a rare opportunity to help build the service from the bottom upwards and for you to make your mark in your respective area of interest and expertise. In return you shall receive an attractive remuneration package, structured development opportunities and a Local Government Pension.
You will also join the team at an exciting time in the organisation’s history with the Council, NHS and other Public Sector organisations working in hand to develop One Public Estate opportunities. Therefore some parts of the Property Service shall be working in an economy-wide role and shall have considerable involvement with the NHS estate.
We are currently recruiting in phases and initially we require 3 General Practice/ Valuation Surveyors. We shall then be recruiting again soon and therefore we would like to invite you to an Estates recruitment open session to showcase what we have available right now, in the future and to also discuss our plans which will give you the opportunity to ask any questions in an informal setting.
I shall be holding open sessions on 9 October 2019 in Tameside, therefore if you would like to arrange a visit with us please contact my colleague Marie Dale via email at marie.dale@tameside.gov.uk or phone on 0161 342 3415 to arrange a time slot.
