Senior Project Manager / Associate Director PM

If you are Senior PM tired of working in a corporate office environment and would like a clear career path to progress to Associate Director, our client with offices in Hertfordshire & London has a requirement for their team.

You will have the option to be based in either the London or Hertfordshire office, whichever is your preference; our client is very flexible.

Our client works across the high end residential and luxury retail sectors for private clients as their main focus but also commercial office and more.

They offer a nurturing and supportive environment to progress and develop professionally while still allowing you to have autonomy over your own projects and clients

We are looking for a chartered PM with previous PM experience in the sectors our client covers. You should have proven experience of running your own projects. You may come from a developer or consultancy background . Initial project you will work on are large scale residential schemes at various stages.

Candidates with experience of agreement for leases, design and build and warranties would be ideal for this role.

Job Description

Associate Level PM

Main Functions

  • Ensure projects are delivered to clients within the timescales and to the quality expected.
  • Required to take sole responsibility for client management and relations.
  • This role will suit someone looking for career progression and seeking a varied workload of projects and clients from a wide range of sectors. Work will include fit outs, refurbs and new builds.

Reports To

  • A Group Director

Main Duties

  • Work closely with the client to understand the business requirements for the project, developing effective working relationships and ongoing management processes for the project.
  • Define the deliverables, resource requirements and work plan for the project and manage their development and delivery.
  • Prepare tender and contract documents.
  • Chair and Minute large Design and Client Team Meetings
  • Ensure that the project is delivered within the financial requirements of the business unit.
  • To estimate and plan projects from start to finish with built in contingencies.
  • To ensure the project meets industry leading quality standards.
  • Manage, monitor and motivate the cross functional team assigned to the project.
  • To conduct project presentations and compile reports.

Working Arrangements

  • Based in our Hertford or London office but would also need to be prepared to travel to alternative sites and project locations, some of which might include some travel within Europe.
  • Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.30pm but these hours are adjusted to suit the requirements of the projects.

Education and Other Qualifications

  • Professionally qualified, ideally RICS, RIBA or MICE.
  • Good numeracy, literacy and language skills (in English).
  • Good IT skills with experience in Microsoft Excel.
  • Good report writing skills.

Specification

  • A proven track record of managing own successful projects in the construction industry, with experience predominantly in the UK.
  • A candidate with a Developer's background, with knowledge of Design & Build, Warranties and Agreement for Leases would be ideal for this role.
  • Team management experience.
  • Excellent client facing skills.
  • Experience of the whole project cycle, able to operate in the initial conceptual design stage and at each stage in between.
  • The ability to have a strong impact and influence key decision.
  • To develop and generate a work supply stream with the aim of creating a self-sufficient team.
