Graduate Surveyor - Rating

The Company

We are excited to be recruiting for a highly respected chartered firm of surveyors in Worcestershire.

With a strong base of highly established clients, the business offers a range of services to their clients including; business rates, commercial rent reviews and lease renewals, compulsory purchase and compensation through to commercial property acquisitions and financial asset valuations.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Surveyor looking to get ‘hand on’ experience working at a smaller (but growing) consultancy.  You’ll be working alongside experienced Surveyors who will offer you all the training and development needed to become a successful Chartered Surveyor.

The Role

The successful candidate will have exposure to a wide range of commercial projects of varying sizes, both locally and across the UK.  Supporting the wider Rating and Lease Advisory team, your role will involve:

• Growing and managing a portfolio of clients to minimise their business rates liabilities
• Carrying out surveys and inspections
• Negotiating and settling appeals against rating assessments, including presenting cases at Valuation Tribunals
• Supporting the lease advisory team in developing Landlord and Tenant opportunities from existing and new clients

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be a working towards RICS Chartered Surveyor status or will be able to demonstrate significant professional experience (ideally in Business Rates or L&T disciplines).
