Civil Engineer to join as Development Engineer where focus will be land viability on new business, reviewing and ensuring internal design standards on feasibilities are being met and helping engineers with day-to-day running of sites.

Description

Your role as Development Engineer will be focused much moreso around initial stages, working on new site enquiries and providing engineering technical expertise, as well as ensuring that the business's design standards are implemented throughout design and planning stages. Typical duties will include:

  • Inspect and appraise land opportunities and provide initial feasibility appraisals to enable a decision to be made whether to proceed with an offer
  • Assist architects in reconciling title plans against survey and advising on site constrain
  • Provide technical advice and assistance on demolition, remediation, drainage, services, highways and foundations.
  • Liaise with consultant engineers on a regular basis ensuring programmes are achieved
  • Monitor progress of tender issues and review against DCO packages and Development Strategy
  • Oversee the checking and completion of Section 220, Section 38, Section 278, Section 185 and Section 104 agreements and the management of the Bond Schedule and Supervision fees
  • Ensure that Technical Approvals for both Road and Sewers are received prior to start on site.

Profile

To be considered for this position you will have a civil engineering background with demonstrable experience working on residential developments. Ideally you have some experience appraising both proposed development plans, and in collating relevant information required in order to accurately assess the feasibility of new opportunities.

You will have a great understanding of design engineering principles but also understand the economic constraints of designs proposals and be able to value engineer without loosing integrity of a scheme.

Other useful skills include assertiveness, being decisive, flexible, good time management, organised, effective at leading / participating in meetings, works well under pressure and to strict deadlines.

Job Offer

Competitive starting salary with attractive remuneration including company car/car allowance of £5,500 and a bonus of up to 15% pa.

You will also receive 22days annual leave with Christmas closing on top and bank holidays as well.
