Associate Director - Building Surveying

You will be the regional lead operating out of our London office and reporting to the Head of Building Surveying (South). You will be responsible for the business development, financial management and operational effectiveness as well as being responsible for your own and for your teams personal development.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director with experience of - and a real passion for - leading a building surveying team. Joining our Building Surveying & Facilities team within the UK, you'll already have a wide range of valuable management skills and experience technically and commercially. You will be expected to support and grow the existing team. This is a technical, business management and a very client facing role and you will be expected to manage an operational business from a P+L perspective as well as developing new clients, winning tenders and playing an active part on the leadership of projects.

Your Role

You will report to the Head of Building Surveying (South) and be responsible for leading, driving and growing the London and South East regional business.

You will proactively contribute to the development of the client base,support and develop a culture of cross-discipline working, develop and maintain business relationships, set and manage client expectations and agree fee schedules and commercial terms.

You will also develop a business plan for the team including exploring key business development opportunities and be a proven 'work winner'.

You'll develop leading edge solutions, maximise technical quality and efficiency and achieve project revenue targets.

You will be joining the existing team who are part of the Asset Management capability of WYG which encompasses professionals throughout the UK, including members of RICS, CIBSE and the Institute of Asset Management and who include a range of disciplines including building surveying, mechanical, electrical and energy services, health & safety, asbestos consultancy and geospatial and data management, offering expertise to public and private clients around the UK and globally through the full project life cycle, including design, procurement and management.

About You

A proven business leader, you will be qualified to degree level, with appropriate professional memberships and relevant industry experience at a senior level. Experienced in successfully running substantial projects from inception to completion, with the ability to write fee and project bids and perform effectively at tender interviews. You will have recognised management experience, the ability to manage other professionals and assistants and to collaborate and influence other team members and clients. You will have a very good understanding of financial management. You should have a driver's license and be prepared to travel across the UK and internationally if required. You should also be suitable for security clearance.
