Kent based Consultancy are looking for a Principal Designer with a Building Surveying background, to work on a wide variety of projects. 

The ideal candidate will ideally have some experience in Business Development and identifying new business opportunities as well as providing a full range of Building Surveying services on property types. The successful candidate will be working as Principal Designer to advise clients and provide services to support them in connection with their obligations as Client under the CDM Regulations 2015.

Some of the responsibilities that come with this role will include: 

> Preparation of Design & Contract documentation, administering tendering, Contract Administration of the works, through to completion and handover including financial control
> Working with AutoCad Systems to provide existing and proposed plans and sketch schemes 
> Planning, Listed Building and Building Regulation Consents
> Party Wall surveys, preparation of notices and awards
> Dilapidations and lease advice
> Schedules of Condition
> Project Monitoring & Project Management
> Building Pathology

Principal Designer

> Provide PD services to a range of clients and assist in developing WWA's BS and PD services including; planning, managing, monitoring and coordinating health and safety in the pre-construction phase, taking account of relevant information (ie existing health and safety file) that might affect design work carried out both before and after the construction phase has started
> assisting and advising clients in bringing together pre-construction information, and providing information designers and contractors need to carry out their duties 
> working with any other designers on the project to eliminate foreseeable health and safety risks to anyone affected by the work and, where that is not possible, take steps to reduce or control those risks

To be successful in your application you will ideally meet the following criteria:

> Qualified MRICS or MCIOB
> Recognised CDM or Health and Safety qualification
> Full working knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2015 and compliance therewith
> Experience in the provision of a wide range of Building Surveying services 
> Ability to successfully manage contracts and contractors/consultants & clients
> Excellent communication skills, with the ability to compose and explain complex issues concisely to different audiences
> Proficient in the use of AutoCad software
> Ability to prioritise and undertake a range of tasks with a positive, flexible attitude and willingness to learn
> Clean Driving Licence.

Package offered will be dependent on the level of experience and ability of the successful candidate and will be discussed at interview stage.
