Your role

We are looking for a development surveyor from planning, property and development background.

The Development Projects Team focusses on the delivery of strategic regeneration priorities and the promotion of the Council’s strategic development sites. This includes leading on key physical urban regeneration and housing projects, including Waterside and Ashton Green, and also the delivery of major strategic sites for both housing and employment development.

You will lead and support on a range of development and regeneration initiatives and programmes related to housing, employment, infrastructure, public realm and connectivity. You will be working with both public and private sector partners to facilitate development opportunities. In your role you will also provide professional advice on the management, development and planning of land and property assets to the LCC senior executive management as well as City Mayor and Elected Members. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of physical development on site including new homes, employment land, education and community facilities and supporting infrastructure.

You will need

You will be required to demonstrate a significant experience and expertise across a range of professional disciplines including property, planning, urban design, housing, highways and transportation. Additionally, you will be expected to be educated to a degree level and have membership of an appropriate professional body i.e. RICS. As you will be leading projects you must have project related qualifications, i.e. Prince 2 or able to demonstrate appropriate level of ability and experience.

Leading other professionals, you will be expected to have an experience of managing and motivating multi-disciplinary professional teams of internal staff and external consultants to deliver specific outputs and outcomes.

This role requires for you be able to work in partnership with stakeholders and to provide advice therefore you will need to demonstrate exceptional communications skills verbal and in writing.

You will have an awareness of current issues affecting property, planning and regeneration affected by this job and in depth knowledge of property, planning, regeneration legislation, guidelines and policy sufficient to give advice to colleagues, elected members, the public, external agencies and partners.
