Job Details

This a great opportunity for an experienced, MRICS qualified Quantity Surveyor to take on an exciting new role to join an expanding Commercial business to work on a variety of pre and post contract cost management activities across an exciting and contrasting variation of exciting projects. I am keen to attract a creative and passionate people with a drive to progress and seek a long term career.

My client is an award winning, multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy, working internationally across the globe. They have a vastly effective and thorough training programme with a proven track record of nurturing and developing talent.

Job duties:

  • Maximising the levels of value and cost certainty in projects.
  • Reporting on project financials at all levels to both internal and external stakeholders whilst ensuring the accuracy and reliability of your data.
  • Producing pricing models.
  • Producing cash flow forecasting.
  • Producing management reports and communicating progress and forecasts.
  • Undertake benchmarking and comparison analysis.
  • Negotiating with supply chain members.
  • Producing template pricing schedules.
  • Collaborating and managing external stakeholders in order to understand and fulfil the client's needs.
  • Proactive in identifying risk and putting in place a robust mitigation strategy.
  • Producing tender documents, schedules of rate.
  • Attending sites, as well as internal and external meetings.
  • Undertaking general pre and post contact cost management duties.
  • Aware of and keep up to date with relevant legislation which affects the properties managed by our clients.
  • Assisting in promoting sustainable thinking to our clients and have a basic level of understanding as to how to integrate sustainable thinking into our projects.

Key attributes for role:

  • You have a Quantity Surveying Degree awarded by a UK university and accredited by the RICS.
  • Fully Chartered Member of RICS with a minimum of two years post qualification experience.
  • Have experience of the hospitality sector
  • Excellent communicator both written and verbal and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Great initiative and problem solving skills and enjoy working in a team.
  • Enjoy the challenge experienced and of working with external stakeholders.
  • Experience in the full life cycle of projects.
  • A solid understanding and experience of a variety of procurement routes.
  • Line management experience.
  • Organisational and management skills.
  • Advanced excel skills with the capability of linking spreadsheets, producing graphical reports, lookup formulae and analysis and good knowledge of Cost X or other construction management software.
  • Strong technical quantity surveying knowledge.
  • The confidence to challenge and strong negotiation skills.
  • A full clean driving license
