Our Requirements:-

Wilks Head and Eve are currently recruiting for an experienced rating surveyor to join our rating team.  The ideal candidate will have some experience dealing with rating appeals and it would be beneficial if some of this experience included the new appeals procedure on 2017 Check, Challenge and Appeal although training can be given.

We act on behalf of a range of clients including over 100 Public Sector and over 100 private clients including some specialist clients such as football clubs and offer a range of services including, business rates encompassing rates appeals, advice, rates retention and require the right person to assist with Check, Challenge and Appeals.

The Role

The successful candidate will have had experience dealing with rating appeals within the UK on different methods of valuation and be able to work independently managing their own caseload as well as liaison with clients.  Your role will involve:-

  • Growing and managing a portfolio of clients to minimise their business rates liabilities
  • Carrying out surveys and inspections
  • Negotiating and settling appeals against rating assessments including if needed presenting cases at Valuation Tribunal and further
  • Providing advice on the best approach to take with Checks/Challenges to ensure the best outcome for clients
  • Direct client liaison, managing the process throughout for all clients assigned to you

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have experience in rating although does not necessarily have to be an RICS Chartered Surveyor as whilst this is desirable, for the right candidate a strong knowledge and understanding of rating is needed.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Thursday    9:00am to 5:30pm 

Friday                           9:00am to 4:30pm (subject to arrival in the office by 9:00am, otherwise usual office                            hours i.e. until 5:30pm)
