What you’ll be doing

Joining our small, close-knit Group Property team as a Principal Surveyor, you’ll support our Head of Property Advisory and work on a breadth of large scale projects that impact the public. The policies you work on and the projects and programmes you will lead will have a direct impact on communities, achieving our ambition of connecting people and places and in driving prosperity. You’ll maximise property regeneration opportunities, primarily around station developments, and provide advice on our major infrastructure projects, including HS2. Projects align to meet our ministerial priorities and key objectives, including COVID-19 or exiting the EU.  It’ll be down to you to make sure we are legally compliant when it comes to property transactions.  You will also be tasked with  managing budget, forecast and finance parts of our property portfolio.

About you

You could be working in the property sector or in a private or public sector organisation linked to property, infrastructure or housing. Either way, you’ll be a strong team player and a good problem solver with solid experience leading on projects in a professional property team. You’ll also have RICS membership and a relevant degree (or equivalent experience). You have excellent communication skills and are able to deliver easy-to-understand advice to clients and stakeholders. With the ability to see how your role fits in to the bigger picture, you’re a strategic thinker who can quickly adapt to challenges and deliver to tight deadlines.  

Things to know

You’ll spend approximately 70% of your time in our modern office building and 30% of your time on site or at meetings. We have an open plan office and a hot desking policy.
